MIAMI – Miami FC announced on Monday the club had exercised its contract option on defender Daltyn Knutson for the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Knutson signed with Miami for the 2024 season, making his USL Championship debut with the team. He recorded 31 appearances, logging 2,680 minutes, and led the side with 120 clearances and 41 blocked shots, which also stood as the most by an individual player in the 2024 regular season.
The 27-year-old also won 82 duels at a 55.4 percent success rate and led the side with 1,585 passes attempted, posting an 85 percent accuracy rate and eight chances created.
“We’ve felt the frustration, and we’ve turned it into fuel. This season is all about proving who we are – coming out stronger, hungrier, and more united,” said Knutson. “We’re ready to bring passion, grit, and results back to Miami and give the fans the excitement they deserve.”
Prior to joining Miami, Knutson competed for five seasons in USL League One, spending time with both South Georgia Tormenta FC (2019, 2023) and Union Omaha (2020-22). He helped Omaha claim its first League One title in 2021 and was also part of the side that advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
