PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC announced on Friday it had signed forward Bertin Jacquesson to a one-year contract with a club option for the 2026 season and forward Brigham Larsen to a two-year contract with a club option for the 2027 season ahead of the new USL Championship campaign. The transactions are pending league and federation approval.

Jaquesson signs with the Hounds after featuring for the club while on loan from Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer in the second half of the 2024 campaign. The 23-year-old recorded five goals and two assists in eight appearances for the side across the regular season and playoffs, averaging a goal every 124 minutes with a shooting accuracy rate of 73.3 percent.

“Bertin was very good for us at the end of 2024 and a priority to bring back in 2025,” said Riverhounds Head Coach Bob Lilley said. “He is quick and dangerous in front of goal and will also set up others. Needless to say, we are excited to have him back in Pittsburgh for the 2025 USL Championship season.”

Originally from Lorrez-le-Bocage, France, Jacquesson had previously made his presence felt in the Steel City as part of the University of Pittsburgh’s squads that reached the NCAA College Cup Semifinals in 2020 and 2022. After three years with the Panthers, he was the 16th overall selection in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake.

Larsen enters the professional ranks after spending the past three years playing for the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. The 6-foot-4 striker helped lead the 49ers to back-to-back American Athletic Conference titles, which included scoring the overtime game-winner in the 2024 AAC Championship in a 2-1 win over Florida International.

“Brigham brings size and pace to our front line. His ability to link play, as well as get behind defenders, will be a welcome addition in 2025,” said Lilley.

In three years at Charlotte, Larsen posted 13 goals and eight assists, and he earned Second Team All-AAC honors in 2023. The 49ers reached the NCAA Tournament in each of his last two seasons; Charlotte fell in overtime at N.C. State last season and won a first-round game in 2023 over High Point before losing to eventual national champion Clemson.

A native of Oslo, Norway, Larsen played his first college season for Winthrop University, where he scored 11 goals in his lone season to earn Big South Conference Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Big South honors.
