LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Lights FC has signed forward Christian Pinzón to a new contract ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season with a club option for the 2026 season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Pinzón returns to the Lights having made 24 appearances in his first season with the club, appearing in each of the final 21 regular season matches and all three playoff matches. The 26-year-old contributed three goals, all three of which were game-winners, and four assists, including the match-winning assist in the Lights’ 1-0 win against New Mexico United in the Western Conference Semifinal of the 2024 USL Championship Playoffs.
“Christian is a talented attacking player with positional flexibility who can contribute in multiple roles, and we’re pleased to sign him to this new contract for the next two seasons,” said Lights Sporting Director Gianleonardo Neglia. “Keeping a core of key players with the club year-to-year is how you develop a consistent winning culture. With 17 players returning, Christian included, we are excited for our potential in 2025.”
Pinzón had previously competed in the Championship for Rio Grande Valley FC where he recorded 10 goals and three assists in 35 appearances for the Toros across two seasons. A native of Bellflower, Calif., the 26-year-old was selected in the 2021 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by Chicago Fire FC before electing to compete for C.D. Tapatio – the reserve team of Chivas de Guadalajara – in the Liga Expansión MX to begin his professional career after playing for Cal State Fullerton collegiately.
