COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced on Friday it had signed defender Isaiah Foster ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Foster returns for his second stint with the Switchbacks, for whom he previously made 25 appearances during the 2022 season logging 13 interceptions, 32 clearances and 85 recoveries. The Maryland native also won 30 tackles at a 76.9 percent success rate and won 76 duels at a 57.1 percent success rate.

“I’m excited to be back, I never had a bad experience when I was here, from the coaching staff to the fans,” said Foster. “Everything was great and can’t wait to be a part of this organization again.”

Foster’s performance with the Switchbacks saw him transferred to FC Cincinnati ahead of the 2023 Major League Soccer season. The 21-year-old made his MLS debut on this past June against FC Dallas and scored his first goal for the team in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup against Cavalier FC.

Additionally, Foster featured as a key starter for reserve team FC Cincinnati II in MLS NEXT Pro, where he made recorded 3,313 minutes across 39 appearances over the past two seasons, notching a passing accuracy rate of 83.4 percent and 17 chances created.

“I think Isaiah’s return to the club is a testament to the staff’s development mindset. He is a talented player who needs a platform and a full season of games,” said Switchbacks Sporting Director Stephen Hogan. “His personality fits the locker room, and the prospect of him competing in our league is something we all want to see.”
