Locomotive signs forward Andy Cabrera to new deal

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC announced today that it has signed Andy Cabrera for the 2025 USL Championship season. The signing is pending league and federation approval and the terms of the deal will not be disclosed per club policy.

Cabrera returns to Locomotive after making eight appearances and logging 524 minutes of action after signing as a late-season addition in the 2024 campaign. Cabrera recorded nine shots and 10 chances created in his limited minutes.

“Andy is a player who adds a lot of dynamic qualities to our attack, and we’re excited to add him to our team for 2025,” said Locomotive Technical Director Ray Saari.

The 24-year-old had previously competed in the USL Championship for Rio Grande Valley FC where he recorded 11 goals and three assists in 55 appearances as a USL Academy signing for the Toros. He went on to compete collegiately for Butler University, where he was a three-time All-Big East First Team selection while recording 23 goals and 12 assists in 69 appearances for the Bulldogs.

"I’m excited for the opportunity to come back to such an amazing club,” said Cabrera. “We are approaching the 2025 season hungrier than ever, and I know we can achieve great things.”
