LEESBURG, Va. – Loudoun United FC announced on Monday the club had signed forward Wesley Leggett to a two–year contract extension with an option for the 2027 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Leggett remains with Loudoun after two seasons in which he recorded 14 goals and six assists in 70 appearances across all competitions. This past campaign the 23-year-old recorded eight goals and two assists in 32 appearances in the Championship, posting a shooting accuracy rate of 64.7 percent and shot conversion rate of 23.5 percent.

“We are excited to secure Wes to a multi-year contract after a breakout season in 2024,” said United Director of Soccer Olly Gage. “His attitude and commitment towards improvement gives us faith that he’s only going to get better. We’re happy to have him with the club for the next few years.”

“Wes is an exciting young player who really performed consistently this past season,” added Loudoun Head Coach Ryan Martin. If he can have the same jump in 2025, he will be a top striker in this league, and we are betting on him. He is a tremendous young man, and we are excited to help him get where he wants to go.”

Prior to joining the professional ranks, Leggett attended St. John’s University, where he recorded nine goals and six assists in 42 appearances for the side across three seasons. In 2021, Leggett tallied three goals, including one game-winner and one assist, helping the Red Storm reach the NCAA Tournament Second Round, while notching three goals and four assists in his senior season in 2022.
