SEASIDE, Calif. – Monterey Bay F.C. announced on Tuesday it had re-signed forward Alex Dixon to a one-year contract ahead of the 2025 USL Championship campaign. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Dixon returns as MBFC’s record-holder for goals in a single season and is tied for the club lead in goals (16). He also currently ranks third in USL Championship history in appearances (276) and ninth in minutes played (20,387) while having also recorded 64 goals and 34 assists across his career.
“It was important for us to retain Alex Dixon for our 2025 roster,” said Monterey Bay Head Coach Jordan Stewart. “His 20,000 plus minutes of experience in the league offer invaluable wisdom and insight, making him a valuable mentor both on and off the field.”
A native of Bay City, Texas, Dixon claimed the 2015 USL Championship title with the Rochester Rhinos and has also spent time in the league with OKC Energy FC, Hartford Athletic and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC before arriving in Monterey Bay prior to the 2023 season.
“I am super excited to re-sign with Monterey Bay,” said Dixon. “I’ve loved every minute of playing for this club and I’m excited for what’s to come this season. I think that with my experience, I know what it takes to win in this league. And in the locker room, I’m there to lead by example and help bring the younger players along.
“I can’t say enough how important the community and the fans have been to us since I’ve been here. Pulling on the Crisp and Kelp and playing in front of them again can’t come soon enough.”
