LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC announced on Tuesday at least 18 players from the club’s record-setting regular season campaign in 2024 will return for the new USL Championship season, exercising six contract options in addition to its contingent of returning players.

LouCity exercised contract options on goalkeeper Ryan Troutman, midfielders Evan Davila and Carlos Moguel Jr, and forwards Isaac Cano, Sam Gleadle, and Ray Serrano.

Additionally, goalkeeper Danny Faundez, defenders Wes Charpie, Amadou Dia, Aiden McFadden, Jake Morris, Arturo Ordóñez, Manny Perez and Sean Totsch, midfielders Adrien Perez and Elijah Wynder, and forwards Phillip Goodrum, Wilson Harris return under existing contracts.

The club also announced the departing of defender Owen Damm (end of contract), goalkeeper Damian Las (end of loan period), midfielder Dylan Mares (end of contract) and defender Sebastian Sanchez (end of contract).

Forward Jorge Gonzalez, who suffered a season-ending injury last summer, continues to coordinate with the club on his rehabilitation.

LouCity remains in negotiations to sign other returning players with more announcements expected in the coming days.

“We are looking forward to returning a core group of players that put together a great regular season,” said LouCity Head Coach Danny Cruz. “The key for everyone — staff and players included — is to make sure that we all come back with a burning desire to be better.

"We recognize that we fell short of our own expectations in the playoffs and will do everything we can this offseason to prepare ourselves to be better next year in the moments that matter most. I know this group, and I know that how 2024 finished will fuel them until we are back pushing again in preseason.

“We have a good foundation going into 2025 and will continue to put together a group that we feel can get us a third star.”
