EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC announced on Monday it had signed defenders Ricky Ruiz and Arturo Ortiz, midfielder Robert Coronado and forward Tumi Moshobane to new contracts – including multi-year agreements with Ruiz and Coronado – and exercised its contract option on defender Noah Dollenmayer as the club made its first roster decisions ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transactions are pending league and federation approval.
The moves give Locomotive 12 players currently under contract for the 2025 season, with goalkeeper Jahmali Waite, defenders Wahab Ackwei and Tony Alfaro, midfielders Bolu Akinyode, Eric Calvillo and Emiliano Rodriguez, and forward Amando Moreno previously under contract.
Locomotive also announced defender Lucas Stauffer has mutually parted ways with the club and will not return for 2025 alongside six other players who were out of contract – goalkeeper Javier Garcia, defenders Dennis Erdmann, Nick Hinds and Miles Lyons, and forwards Malik McLemore, Joaquin Rivas and Ricardo Zacarias.
Five players who were with Locomotive on loan for 2024 will return to their parent clubs. Defender Brandan Craig will return to Philadelphia Union and forward Stiven Rivas to Real Cartagena whereas goalkeeper Ramon Pasquel, defender Javier Nevarez and defender Gonzalo Pelua will head back to Locomotive’s Liga MX sister club FC Juárez.
Locomotive is currently in negotiations with other players that competed for the club in 2024. Updates regarding those players will be announced at a later date.
