The 2024 USL Championship Playoffs presented by Terminix reach the Eastern and Western Conference Finals this Saturday night in a doubleheader that sees the Charleston Battery play host to Rhode Island FC on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET for the Eastern title and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC host Las Vegas Lights FC at 9 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Golazo Network in the West.
Looking ahead, however, there’s the matter of which team would host the USL Championship Final on the CBS Television Network and TUDN on Saturday, November 23 at 12 p.m. ET.
This year, in a change from prior seasons, the USL implemented conference seeding to determine hosting priority, with a first tiebreaker of total points in the regular season should two teams with the same seed advance to square off in the Final.
Per the League Competition Manual:
Ordinarily, the highest seeded Team shall host Playoff matches and the USL Championship Final, but the League has the right to change the host site in its reasonable discretion.
If two teams are tied on seeding, from their respective conferences, the next tie breaker will be points earned in regular season play to determine the host for the USL Championship Final.
It gives us this order going into the Conference Final weekend.
1. Charleston Battery – No. 2 seed, 64pts
2. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC – No. 2 seed, 52pts
3. Las Vegas Lights FC – No. 4 seed
4. Rhode Island FC – No. 5 seed
