DETROIT – Detroit City FC announced on Tuesday it had signed forward Ben Morris to a two-year contract extension with a club option for the 2027 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Morris joined DCFC from Ipswich Town prior to the start of the 2023 campaign having spent most of his youth career with the current Premier League side. This past season he recorded 10 goals and four assists as he appeared in every game of the season across the regular season and playoffs, while also notching 39 chances created and 59 shots.
For his performance, Morris was named the Players’ Player of the Year in 2024, an award voted on by the rest of the Detroit City FC team.
Overall since joining Le Rouge, Morris has made 68 appearances in the USL Championship regular season and playoffs, logging 17 goals and six assists while posting a shooting accuracy rate of 45 percent and shot conversion rate of 21.3 percent.
