IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Thursday night it had appointed Danny Stone as its interim Head Coach for the remainder of the 2024 USL Championship season.
A recent arrival as an assistant coach following his departure from Phoenix Rising FC, Stone takes over from prior interim Head Coach Paul Hardyman, who presided over the past 10 games for OCSC after Morten Karlsen’s move to become Head Coach at Danish SuperLiga club Lyngby this summer.
Stone will attempt to revive the playoff aspirations for the 2021 Championship title winner, which currently sits in the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference but has gone without a goal in its past five games, equaling the longest such run in the club’s history.
With nine games to play in the campaign – including a meeting with Stone’s former club Rising on Wednesday, September 25 at Championship Soccer Stadium – OCSC is aiming for a boost in form.
