Louisville boasts the best home attack in the league, Sacramento the best road defense as the perennial title-challengers meet

Louisville City FC's Wilson Harris and Sacramento Republic FC's Danny Vitiello are set to play key roles as their sides square off on Saturday night on ESPN2.

There is no other way to describe Saturday night’s meeting between perennial USL Championship title contenders Louisville City FC and Sacramento Republic FC as one of strength vs. strength.

The Eastern Conference leaders and two-time Championship title winners have featured the best attack in the league this season, one that’s been historically potent on home turf at Lynn Family Stadium.

The second-placed side in the Western Conference and 2014 title winner has been rock solid at the back, especially on the road where it is undefeated this season and on an 11-game road undefeated streak dating back to last season.

Ahead of Saturday’s showdown on ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET, here are the numbers you need to know going into one of the campaign’s biggest matchups.

77 – Louisville City FC’s 77 shots on target in 10 USL Championship contests at Lynn Family Stadium this season currently leads the league. It puts the side on pace for 131 shots on target in the regular season, which would rank second all-time in a USL Championship season to the New York Red Bulls II side of 2019, which recorded 134.

37 – Sacramento Republic FC has faced only 37 shots on target in 10 away games this season. That currently sits as the second-fewest in the USL Championship this season, trailing only North Carolina FC on 34 shots faced in 10 games.

37 – Louisville City FC has scored 37 goals in its 10 USL Championship contests at Lynn Family Stadium this season. That puts it on pace to smash the league’s single-season goalscoring record of 51 goals in 17 games set by Phoenix Rising FC during the 2019 season.

6 – Sacramento Republic FC has posted six shutouts in 10 road games so far this season, four off the Championship’s single-season record set by Miami FC in 2022. With its next road shutout, Republic FC would equal its club record of seven road shutouts in a season, set in 2016.

26.81 – Louisville City FC has posted a shot conversion rate on unblocked shots of 26.81 percent at home this season. That currently ranks as the highest in the Championship’s history, surpassing the mark of 25.81 percent set by Phoenix Rising FC in the abbreviated 2020 season. The highest mark in a full regular season was also set by Phoenix, at 24.52 percent a season ago.

87.1 – Sacramento Republic FC goalkeeper Danny Vitiello has posted a save percentage of 87.1 percent in nine road appearances this season. That currently stands as the best single-season road save percentage among goalkeepers with at least nine road appearances in the USL Championship’s history, surpassing the mark of 85.1 percent held by Orange County SC’s Patrick Rakovsky in the 2021 season.

4 – Sacramento Republic FC has conceded only four goals from inside the penalty area on the road this season, part of the league-fewest six goals the side has conceded overall away from home.

14 – Louisville City FC has had 14 different players record a goal at home in the USL Championship this season, with eight having recorded multiple goals. Wilson Harris’ team-high 10 goals at home sit second to only the Charleston Battery’s Nick Markanich (14).

-4.3 – Sacramento Republic FC goalkeeper Danny Vitiello has posted a Goals Prevented mark of -4.3 goals in nine road appearances this season. That currently stands as the lowest among goalkeepers in road contests this season, narrowly ahead of Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC’s Eric Dick (-4.22)
