Indy Eleven’s Jack Blake converted his fifth penalty kick of the season from five shots on Sunday evening to lead the Boys in Blue to a 1-0 victory against Birmingham Legion FC at Protective Stadium. In doing so, he moved within two goals of the club’s single-season record for goals from the penalty spot, set last year by Aodhan Quinn as he went 7 of 7 from the spot.

Quinn is one of seven players to have recorded at least six penalty kick goals without a miss in a single season in the Championship’s history. The current record is held by Luke Vercollone, who went 8 of 8 for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the 2015 season.

Louisville City FC center back Sean Totsch scored his 11th penalty kick in as many attempts in his career in the USL Championship regular season on Saturday night as his goal proved the game-winner in the side’s 2-1 victory against North Carolina FC at Lynn Family Stadium.

Totsch’s mark of 11 of 11 penalty kicks is only surpassed by former Richmond Kickers and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC midfielder Luke Vercollone, who converted 14 of 14 penalty kicks in the league. Vercollone and Totsch are the only players to record double-digit goals from the penalty spot without a miss.
