TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 10 of the 2024 regular season on Tuesday, with Indy Eleven defender Aedan Stanley voted the Championship Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball after recording the first two-assist game of his career and helping lead Indy to a 3-1 victory against Miami FC on Sunday night to extend the club’s current undefeated run.
Facing his former club after an offseason move to Indy, Stanley produced an outstanding performance on the left side for the Boys in Blue. The 24-year-old delivered a fine corner kick from the right as Indy took the lead in the 41st minute as fellow Team of the Week selection Adrian Diz Pe rose highest to head home and then laid on a close-range opportunity for Augustine Williams with 20 minutes to go as the visitors sealed victory at FIU Soccer Stadium.
Stanley recorded six chances created overall against Miami, including three big chances created, while completing 27 of 32 passes overall. The Columbia, Ill. native – who began his career in the Championship with Saint Louis FC as a USL Academy signing in 2016 – is now tied for the league-lead with five assists this season having already set an individual season-high just 10 games into the campaign. His play has helped Indy record a six-game undefeated streak across all competitions to move into a top-four position in the Championship’s Eastern Conference.
Stanley earned 45 percent of the ballot to claim the award. El Paso Locomotive FC’s Tumi Moshobane and Louisville City FC’s Ray Serrano finished tied for second on 27 percent apiece after Moshobane led Locomotive’s first win of the season with a goal and assist in a 2-0 win at Loudoun United FC on Friday night while Serrano had one goal, four shots and four chances created in LouCity’s 3-0 win against Orange County SC on Saturday night.
The Championship’s Player of the Week is selected by the USL National Media Panel, which is made up of representatives from each media market in the Championship.
