INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Thursday the club had acquired defender Benjamin Ofeimu and midfielder Ben Mines via transfer from fellow USL Championship club Miami FC. In a corresponding move, Indy transferred defender Danny Barbir and forward Roberto Molina to Miami.

Per club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed. Both Ofeimu and Mines will be available for selection when Indy plays host to the Charleston Battery on Saturday night at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

Ofeimu joined Miami ahead of the 2022 season and made 40 appearances for the club, logging nearly 2,800 minutes in just over two seasons. Prior to his time in Miami, the 23-year-old appeared in 15 matches for Birmingham Legion FC in 2021 and spent three seasons (2018-20) with the Philadelphia Union II in the USL Championship, where he made 46 appearances.

A product of the New York Red Bulls Academy, Mines joined Miami FC prior to the 2023 season and made 26 appearances for the club. The 23-year-old made his USL Championship debut during the 2016 season for the New York Red Bulls II and made 48 appearances for the club while recording two goals and three assists.

After signing as a Homegrown Player with the Red Bulls in 2018, Mines was selected by FC Cincinnati in the 2020 MLS Waiver Draft and went on to serve a pair of loans with USL Championship sides Orange County FC (Aug.-Nov. 2021) and Colorado Springs Switchbacks SC (March-Nov. 2022). During his tenure in Orange County, Mines helped the club to the 2021 USL Championship title, scoring three goals in 11 matches.
