TULSA, Okla. – FC Tulsa announced on Wednesday the club had signed midfielder Boubacar Diallo and defender Jean Carlo Filho ahead of the 2024 USL Championship Season. The transactions are pending league and federation approval.

Diallo joins Tulsa having spent the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Union II of MLS NEXT Pro. Over that span he recorded 48 appearances for the side and logged three goals and two assists in 2,079 minutes of action. A native of Livington, N.J., the 21-year-old is the son of former Tampa Bay Mutiny and New England Revolution forward Mamadou Diallo.

“I am very happy to be joining the team this year,” said Diallo. “I am looking forward to the first game at home and meeting all the fans. I truly believe we have a really good group of guys and I will put all my effort in to help the team and fight for the championship.”

“Boubacar comes to us after two very good years with the Philadelphia Union II team,” said Tulsa Head Coach Mario Sanchez. “He is a fierce competitor in the midfield. He has the physical ability to cover ground and break up plays and at the same time, he is very good on the ball and will help develop the attack from the midfield.”

A native of Brazil, Filho comes to Tulsa having previously competed in his native Brazil. The 23-year-old has previously competed for a collection of clubs including Guarani FC, Alcanenense, SC Esmoriz, SC Senhora De Hora, and Atlético Clube Três Corações. 

“Jean Carlo was identified by our scouting network when they saw him play in Brazil,” said Sanchez. “Jean Carlo is a very explosive athlete. He is a left sided player who is very technical on the ball. He has the unique ability to play in a variety of positions which will provide us with tactical flexibility.”
