LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC announced on Monday the club had signed midfielder Evan Davila, the younger brother of another recent addition to the club, Taylor Davila, for the 2024 USL Championship season.

A former University of California standout, Davila earned his first professional contract out of a preseason trial. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

“I have spoken the entire offseason about the importance of bringing in players that are hungry with ambition to want to improve every single day. Evan is a player that we brought in on trial and fit in from the start,” said LouCity Head Coach Danny Cruz. “He is versatile player that's constantly looking to play forward and brings quality in the final third.

“We are excited that he chose to come to Louisville City, and we are looking forward to playing a role in his development as he takes the next step in his career playing in the USL Championship.”

Davila enters the pro ranks off his best collegiate season. He was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region team and earned a spot on the All-Pac 12 First Team last fall having posted career highs in goals (five) and assists (five). Three of his goals proved game-winners for the Bears.

A 22-year-old from Sherman Oaks, California, Davila played four seasons at Cal, where his brother also attended. Taylor Davila moved to LouCity this offseason after a USL Championship All-League First Team campaign at Rio Grande Valley FC.

“To graduate college and then sign for a great organization like LouCity is a dream come true,” said Evan Davila, who featured as a substitute this past Saturday in LouCity's preseason victory over One Knoxville SC. “I’m grateful to be able to represent this city with its amazing fans. I’m also super excited to play and compete with my brother, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
