Las Vegas Lights FC has acquired center back Hayden Sargis on loan from D.C. United, with the 21-year-old having previously been a finalist for the Championship's Young Player of the Year award at Sacramento Republic FC.

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Lights FC announced on Tuesday it had added four new players to its 2024 roster, signing defender Gennaro Nigro and forward Khori Bennett and acquiring defender Hayden Sargis on loan from D.C. United and midfielder JC Ngando on loan from Vancouver Whitecaps FC for the 2024 USL Championship season. All four transactions are pending league and federation approval.

Sargis joins the Lights having previously made 61 USL Championship appearances since 2020, when he was a finalist for the league’s Young Player of the Year award with Sacramento Republic FC. Sargis was subsequently transferred to D.C. United and has spent time on loan in the Championship with Loudoun United FC and Phoenix Rising FC. Last season, the 21-year-old recorded two Lamar Hunt US Open Cup appearances for D.C. United and made two MLS regular season appearances in addition to three loan appearances for Loudoun.

Nigro most recently played for Real Monarchs SLC of MLS NEXT Pro after beginning his professional career in Europe with Italian side Potenza Calcio (Potenza) back in 2020. Playing primarily at left back, Nigro is a New Jersey native who came up through the New York Red Bulls Academy, and joins the Lights having made 14 appearances for the Monarchs in 2023.

Ngando was originally selected by Whitecaps FC as a Generation Adidas player 13th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. During his rookie season, the 24-year-old made 14 appearances in all competitions for the Caps, including the MLS regular season, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship, and Leagues Cup.

Bennett previously laced-up for USL League One side Charlotte Independence and notched six goals in 30 appearances in 2023 as well as recording a goal in two U.S. Open Cup appearances for the side. Over the past two seasons in Charlotte, Bennett has scored 17 goals and added three assists in regular-season action.
