MIAMI – Miami FC announced on Monday the club had signed defender Alejandro Mitrano ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Mitrano joins Miami having most recently competed for fellow USL Championship club Las Vegas Lights FC in the 2023 season. The 25-year-old recorded 27 appearances for the Lights, including one in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Prior to moving to the States, Mitrano played for Monagas SC in Venezuela’s Liga FUTVE Apertura in 2022. In 2020, he signed with CA Boston River to play in Uruguay’s Primera División Apertura.

“I’m very happy to join Miami FC and take on this new challenge in my career,” said Mitrano. “Looking forward to contributing to this upcoming season, creating memorable moments for our fans and achieving great results together.”
