San Antonio FC has signed goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh, who will enter his ninth season in the professional ranks this season.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Wednesday the club had signed goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval and per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McIntosh joins the SAFC goalkeeping corps having most recently competed for Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer. The 30-year-old recorded three shutouts in 16 appearances in MLS over the past three seasons, and has also previously competed for Portland Timbers FC and the New York Red Bulls.

In addition to his top-flight experience, McIntosh has made 73 appearances in the USL Championship during his career for the Timbers 2 and SKC II. In that span he posted 278 saves and a save percentage of 68.3 percent while notching 13 shutouts.

“We're thrilled to welcome Kendall to the team,” said SAFC Head Coach Alen Marcina. “Building a skilled, focused, and hungry goalkeeping core is a priority for us, and with Kendall's addition, we've achieved just that. Kendall brings exceptional athleticism and an undeniable shot-stopping ability, as well as valuable experience and leadership to the team.”

A native of Oakland, Calif., McIntosh competed for the United States U-20 and U-17 National Teams, and helped the U-17s claim the 2011 Concacaf U-17 Championship. While in college at Santa Clara University, McIntosh was named 2015 West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year after leading the Broncos to a conference championship.
