MIAMI - Miami FC announced on Saturday the signing of midfielder Andrew Booth ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Booth joins Miami having spent the past two campaigns with the Charleston Battery, where he was part of a squad that last season claimed the Eastern Conference title and advanced to the USL Championship Final. Booth made 24 appearances for the Battery in the 2023 campaign, recording two goals and one assist in 756 minutes.

A native of Tamarac, Fla., Booth competed for Florida International University before joining the professional ranks with Greenville Triumph SC in USL League One for the 2020 season. The 26-year-old recorded three goals and four assists in 36 appearances for Greenville while helping the club win the USL League One title.

“I’m excited to be back in South Florida and playing so close to home. It’s also nice to be back at FIU where I played college soccer,” said Booth. “In 2024, I’m excited for a fresh start, the majority of the team and staff are new as well so it will be a positive challenge to create a cohesive unit.”

At FIU, Booth made 64 appearances across four seasons and chalked up seven goals and nine assists in that time. Following his junior and senior seasons, Booth earned Conference USA All-Conference honors, and in his senior season earned Booth Conference USA Midfielder of the Year. He was selected with the 96th pick in the 2020 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by Minnesota United FC before signing with Greenville Triumph SC.
