LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington SC today announced the signing of 31-year-old forward Cameron Lancaster, pending league and federation approval. Remaining in the Bluegrass State, the two-time USL Championship title winner departs Louisville City FC as the club's all-time leading scorer and has accumulated the third-most goals in USL Championship regular season history.

Hailing from London, England, the center forward started his youth career at Tottenham Hotspur FC's academy in 2009. Lancaster made his professional debut in EFL League One with Dagenham & Redbridge FC while on a one-month youth loan from Tottenham in 2011.

Returning to Tottenham upon the completion of his loan to the Daggers, Lancaster was signed to his first full professional contract with Spurs. In addition to making appearances with Tottenham's youth teams in the U-21 Premier League, Lancaster made one Premier League appearance for Spurs on Jan. 31, 2012, against Wigan Athletic FC and also appeared on the bench for the first team in a 2011-12 UEFA Europa League group stage match at FC Rubin Kazan.

Lancaster was released by Tottenham following the 2013-14 season and signed with EFL League Two side Stevenage FC, making six appearances for the Boro during the 2014-15 season. Lancaster then signed with sixth-tier English side St Albans City FC, making six appearances during his one-month stint with the club.

in 2015, Lancaster moved to the United States to sign with USL Championship side Louisville City FC. Aside from spending the 2019 season with then-USL Championship club Nashville SC, Lancaster spent a total of eight seasons in Louisville.

During his time with LouCity, Lancaster recorded 175 appearances, 88 goals and 11 assists across USL Championship, USL Championship Playoffs, and U.S. Open Cup play. The forward helped Louisville claim the USL Championship title in 2017 and 2018 and won the 2018 USL Championship Golden Boot with 25 goals - setting a single-season league record.

Lancaster departs Louisville as the club's all-time leading scorer across all competitions with 88 goals. His 80 goals scored in the USL Championship regular season with Louisville and Nashville stand as the third-most in league history. Lancaster was a USL Championship All-League First Team selection in 2018 and 2020 and received a Second Team nod in 2021.

"Extremely excited to be joining Lexington," Lancaster said. "It's a new chapter for me in my career and there's no better place to be with the ambition this club has. Can't wait to be out there playing for the crest and our fans, and I'll do everything possible to make sure we all have a successful season."

"We are excited to have Cameron join us," Lexington Head Coach Darren Powell said. "He is a proven goal scorer in the USL and had a successful career with Louisville. His goalscoring records speak for themselves but he is one of the best strikers at finishing in and around the box with different types of finishes. He is also a team player who has great experience which will help lead the younger players on the team. We are looking forward to working together and pushing this team to its full potential."
