IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC has secured a new agreement with the City of Irvine that will see the club continue to compete at Championship Soccer Stadium for at least 10 more seasons. The agreement was confirmed by the City of Irvine Council on Tuesday night.

The agreement secures the USL Championship club’s future in Irvine, which the club has called home for the past 10 years. It also followed a banner year for OCSC at the box office, with the club having recorded its fifth consecutive shutout on a Saturday night this past weekend as it took a 1-0 victory to secure a top-four finish in the Western Conference.

“We are delighted to ink this deal that gives our fans and our community the security and certainty they’ve craved for so long,” said OCSC President of Business Operations Dan Rutstein. “The last 12 months have been an uncertain time for our fans and we’re delighted to have secured this new deal. We’re incredibly grateful to the Great Park Board, the Irvine City Council, as well as the City of Irvine Staff, led by City Manager Oliver Chi. Our fans wake up today knowing we will be playing at this beautiful stadium until 2033 – when we will be able to have a 20-year celebration.”

Orange County has been working closely with City of Irvine staff for almost 12 months on the new deal, which also confers additional branding and sponsorship opportunities for the club at the venue.

“I am proud of the partnership between the City of Irvine and Orange County Soccer Club,” said City of Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “This agreement not only cements OCSC’s place in our community, but also showcases Irvine’s commitment to fostering a vibrant sports culture, unity, and community engagement. I am confident that OCSC will continue to be a beacon of pride for Irvine residents.”

The club will be celebrating the agreement when it kicks off the 2023 USL Championship Playoffs at Championship Soccer Stadium on Saturday, October 21 with a ‘Bring It Home’ night at 7:30 p.m. PT. The match will feature Irvine-based food trucks and other celebrations of the City.
