Loudoun adds defender Jacob Greene on loan from D.C. United

LEESBURG, Va. – Loudoun United FC announced on Tuesday the club had added defender Jacob Greene on loan from D.C. United of Major League Soccer for the remainder of the 2023 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

The 20-year-old rejoins Loudoun having previously made 72 appearances across the past four seasons. Greene made his debut for United in the 2019 campaign, notching 15 appearances across two campaigns before signing as a Homegrown Player with D.C. United on November 25, 2020.

Greene was a regular for United over the past two years and has logged more than 5,500 minutes in the Championship overall. Defensively, he has notched 51 interceptions, 96 clearances and 320 recoveries while posting a 64.3 percent tackle success rate while also recording three goals and one assist for the side.

A native of Crofton, Md., Greene initially joined the D.C. United Academy in 2014 and represented the Black-and-Red in various age groups. He made 113 appearances (99 starts) and scored nine goals for the Academy. Greene has also represented the United States Youth National Team at the U-16 level in 2019 and at the U-20 level in 2021.
