MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced on Monday the club had acquired defender Aiden McFadden on loan from MLS side Atlanta United FC for the remainder of the 2023 season. The 24-year-old joins the Beale Street Boys adding MLS and USL Championship experience to the back line.

“We are delighted to welcome Aiden to the club,” said 901 FC Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell. “He is a player we have had on our radar for a while, he can play in multiple positions, he is very good defensively, he likes to get forward into the attack and has had success in our league, which is important. We look forward to Aiden contributing for the remainder of the 2023 season.”

McFadden was selected by Atlanta with the 59th overall selection in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft and broke the Atlanta United 2 single-season scoring record in his rookie season with eight goals to go with three assists in 29 appearances in the USL Championship. McFadden was quickly moved up to the First Team roster permanently during the 2022 season and made 11 MLS appearances.

The West Chester, Pa., native played four years collegiately at Notre Dame from 2017-2020, making 55 appearances for the Fighting Irish with eight goals and six assists.
