San Diego Loyal SC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC will square off for the second time this month to close July’s schedule in the USL Championship with the final game in Week 21 on Sunday afternoon in Southern California.

Here's a look ahead at the action.

San Diego Loyal SC vs. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC

Venue: Torero Stadium
Kickoff: 6 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+ / SiriusXM FC

The Lowdown: San Diego Loyal SC will try to close the gap to the leaders in the Western Conference as it plays host to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, which will be aiming to turn the tables after a heavy home defeat in the first meeting between the teams this season. SD Loyal (8-5-6, 30pts) took a 5-0 victory against the Switchbacks in its last league outing on July 14 as Blake Bodily scored twice and Adrien Perez had a goal and two assists to lead the side at Weidner Field. Most recently, San Diego played Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in an international exhibition on Thursday night, while on Friday the side also made the announcement it had signed 18-year-old Loyal Select product Xavi Gnaulati to his first pro contract. The hosts will now try to gain ground as they sit in fifth place in the West while having played the fewest games (19) of any team in the conference. Colorado Springs (9-10-2, 29pts) drew for just the second time this season in its last outing as Juan Tejada scored in the first half before Phoenix Rising FC rallied to grab a late equalizer in a 1-1 result last Saturday. The Switchbacks are just a point behind San Diego in the standings but have lost three consecutive games in the series while conceding 11 goals and will be looking to change the narrative and boost their own top-four chances with a win.

Spotlight Players
San Diego Loyal SC – Evan Conway:
The 25-year-old leads SD Loyal with eight goals in 17 appearances this season, providing one of the most consistent attacking threats in the Championship this season.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC – Matthew Mahoney: The experienced defender will want to lead his side to a sharper display than its last meeting with SD Loyal as the side looks for its first win in the series all-time.
