FC Tulsa’s Phillip Goodrum claims Player of the Week after two goals, one assist across two victories

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 19 of the 2023 regular season on Tuesday, with FC Tulsa forward Phillip Goodrum voted the Championship Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball after recording two goals and one assist across a pair of victories that vaulted his side into seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The award is Goodrum’s second in the past three weeks, having claimed Player of the Week honors in Week 17 of the campaign. A midseason arrival in Tulsa, the 26-year-old provided the assist on fellow Team of the Week selection Marcus Epps’ game-winning goal against Miami FC last Wednesday night. He then produced another stellar display against Hartford Athletic on Saturday night, scoring twice including the game-winner in a 3-2 victory at ONEOK Field in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time. Goodrum has now recorded six goals and two assists in 10 appearances for Tulsa to help drive the side into playoff contention.

Goodrum earned 55 percent of the ballot to claim the award. San Antonio FC’s Rida Zouhir finished second on 36 percent after scoring a pair of long-range strikes in his side’s comeback 2-1 victory against El Paso Locomotive FC last Wednesday night at Southwest University Park.
