Copa Tejas rivals El Paso Locomotive FC and San Antonio FC – both of whom currently sit in the top three of the USL Championship’s Western Conference – come together for the centerpiece of a six-game slate on Wednesday night that also sees key games in the Eastern Conference playoff race, and Louisville City FC play host to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in a top-four contest between the longtime rivals.

Here's a look ahead at all the action.

Indy Eleven vs. Charleston Battery

Venue: Michael A. Carroll Stadium
Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Indy Eleven will try to rebound from a setback last time out as it squares off with the Charleston Battery, with the Boys in Blue looking for a season sweep of the series to solidify their playoff credentials against a Battery side that has won two of its last three outings. Indy (5-7-5, 20pts) remained in seventh place in the Eastern Conference after a 1-0 defeat to FC Tulsa on Saturday night in which the side recorded a single-season high 20 shots but was unable to answer an early goal by the visitors at Carroll Stadium. Indy has now won once in its last five outings, but the side did take a 4-0 victory when it visited Patriots Point earlier this season in a game that saw Charleston reduced to 10 players after just 19 seconds. Leland Archer was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity, with the resultant penalty kick being converted by Aodhan Quinn to pave the way to victory for the visitors. The Battery (9-5-4, 31pts) have lost three in a row to Indy overall but are sitting much more comfortably in third place in the East after a 3-0 victory against Loudoun United FC in their last outing on June 30 in which Nick Markanich scored a pair of goals. With a chance to pull level on points with current Eastern Conference leader the Tampa Bay Rowdies with a victory, Charleston will be pushing for its first win against Indy since the 2019 season.

Spotlight Players
Indy Eleven – Sebastian Guenzatti:
The veteran forward has recorded three goals so far this season while being ever-present in the lineup and will be looking for a more productive start to the second half of the campaign.

Charleston Battery – Fidel Barajas: The 17-year-old is set to return to action after international duty during Charleston’s last outing and remains tied for the league-lead with five assists entering the week.

Detroit City FC vs. Loudoun United FC

Venue: Keyworth Stadium
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Detroit City FC and Loudoun United FC will both try to rebound from setbacks on Saturday night in a crucial game around the playoff line in the Eastern Conference. Le Rouge (4-10-4, 16pts) suffered a third consecutive defeat as New Mexico United scored late in a 1-0 result at Isotopes Park to move the side into 11th place in the Eastern Conference. Detroit’s attacking struggles have been the central issue this season, with the side having recorded a league-fewest seven goals from open play among and only 12 goals overall. It will hope to turn that around back on home turf against Loudoun (6-13-1, 19pts), which also fell 1-0 on Saturday night to Louisville City FC. United has now lost four of its last five games to sit just below the playoff line in the Eastern Conference. Having conceded four goals in each of its meetings with Detroit a season ago, the visitors will be looking for a turnaround that can both propel them up the standings and create separation from their hosts.

Spotlight Players
Detroit City FC – Skage Simonsen:
The Norwegian forward will face his former club for the first time since his offseason move to Le Rouge and will hope to add to his two goals so far this campaign.

Loudoun United FC – Koa Santos: The right back has been a consistent performer so far this season for United and will look to push in the attacking half regularly with two assists and 23 chances created in attack.

Louisville City FC vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

Venue: Lynn Family Stadium
Kickoff: 8 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Louisville City FC and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will get a quick turnaround for their second meeting of the regular season in a top-four clash that sees the sides divided by three points at kickoff. LouCity (8-4-5, 29pts) earned a 1-0 victory against Loudoun United FC on Saturday night as Cameron Lancaster recorded his second goal of the season early in the second half. The result was sealed by the side’s defense as goalkeeper Oliver Semmle recorded his league-leading ninth shutout of the season, continuing his stellar first pro campaign. Louisville and Pittsburgh played to a scoreless draw when they met on July 1 at Highmark Stadium, a result that continued a current five-game undefeated streak in the series for LouCity. The Hounds (8-2-8, 32pts) also played to a scoreless draw against Sacramento Republic FC this past weekend, but the second-placed side in the Eastern Conference has found success previously on the road in Louisville, going 4-3-2 in the Derby City across the regular season and playoffs in their prior visits. With a chance to pass the Tampa Bay Rowdies for first place in the Eastern Conference, Pittsburgh will be aiming for another successful trip as it looks to continue a current 11-game undefeated streak.

Spotlight Players
Louisville City FC – Sean Totsch:
The dependable center back is putting together another stellar season and will be key to containing Hounds forward Albert Dikwa as he looks to add to his nine goals this season.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC – Danny Griffin: The central midfielder has picked up where he left off a season ago since his return from Huntsville City FC and will hope to drive the visitors to what would be a major road win.

El Paso Locomotive FC vs. San Antonio FC

Venue: Southwest University Park
Kickoff: 9 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: El Paso Locomotive FC and San Antonio FC will vie for the upper hand in the Western Conference standings and this year’s Copa Tejas as they meet for the second time this season. Locomotive FC (9-4-4, 31pts) played to a scoreless draw against Monterey Bay F.C. in its last outing on Saturday night as a strong attacking performance was held at bay by MBFC goalkeeper Antony Siaha and is now looking to break a three-game winless run as it returns home. Locomotive FC claimed a 2-2 draw when it visited San Antonio at Toyota Park in June as Josue Aaron Gomez and Lui8-3-7s Solignac found the net, but that result continued a current five-game undefeated streak in the series for San Antonio that the hosts will be eager to end as they try to move level on points with Western Conference leader Sacramento Republic FC. SAFC (8-3-7, 31pts) enters level on points with El Paso after a 4-0 victory last Friday night at Memphis 901 FC that saw Tani Oluwaseyi record his second hat trick of the season and Jorge Hernandez notch one goal and two assists. San Antonio has now won consecutive games after a four-game winless run in June and leads the Championship with 35 goals as it looks to challenge for first place in the standings.

Spotlight Players
El Paso Locomotive FC – Luis Solignac:
The former SAFC forward notched a superb finish in the first meeting between the teams but is looking to break a run of three games without a goal after Saturday’s draw.

San Antonio FC – Jorge Hernandez: The attacking playmaker has come up to speed with his new side in recent outings, scoring in consecutive games, and his creativity will be a threat El Paso has to account for.

FC Tulsa vs. Miami FC

Venue: ONEOK Field
Kickoff: 9 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: FC Tulsa and Miami FC will try to build momentum in the race for playoff position in the Eastern Conference as they square off after taking victories in their most recent outings on Saturday night. Tulsa (4-7-7, 19pts) claimed a 1-0 victory against Indy Eleven as an early goal by Moses Dyer proved enough after goalkeeper Michael Nelson posted a five-save shutout for the visitors. Tulsa has now won consecutive games in the league for the first time this season, moving the side into eighth place in the standings, and it will try to claim the season series against Miami with a win on Wednesday night after the sides played to a 1-1 draw when they first met in March in South Florida. Miami (3-8-7, 16pts) started to move back in the right direction this past Saturday, however, as goals by Kyle Murphy and Christian Sorto earned a 2-1 victory against Phoenix Rising FC to break an eight-game winless streak for the side. With only three points separating the sides, the visitors will be looking to break a three-game undefeated run for Tulsa in this series and find a pathway toward the top eight.

Spotlight Players
FC Tulsa – Phillip Goodrum:
The powerful forward put in a stellar display last time out on home turf and will likely be key again as Tulsa looks for its first three-game winning streak since the 2021 regular season.

Miami FC – Joaquin Rivas: The El Salvador international put in a solid shift in Miami’s victory on Saturday night with three shots and will hope to have a successful return to ONEOK Field as he faces one of his former clubs.

Oakland Roots SC vs. Memphis 901 FC

Venue: Pioneer Stadium
Kickoff: 10 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Oakland Roots SC and Memphis 901 FC will both try to turn around recent downturns in form as they square off for the first time since early in the 2022 campaign. Oakland (6-5-6, 23pts) dropped out of the playoff positions in the Western Conference on Saturday night after suffering a 3-0 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Roots SC is now winless in its last five games overall and has dropped its past two but would return to the playoff positions if it can earn all three points back on home turf. Memphis (8-4-4, 28pts) has struggled defensively in its past two outings, meanwhile, and fell 4-0 on Friday night against San Antonio FC to drop to fifth place in the Eastern Conference. 901 FC has now allowed 10 goals in its past two games, but with two games in hand on Eastern Conference leader Tampa Bay it will remain within reach of the top should it take victory in the first of a two-game trip to Northern California that wraps up on Saturday night against Sacramento Republic FC.

Spotlight Players
Oakland Roots SC – Lindo Mfeka:
The South African playmaker has notched three goals and two assists this season but will be looking for his first goal since May 6 as he tries to boost his side after its winless run.

Memphis 901 FC – Graham Smith: The 2022 Championship All-League selection hasn’t been at his best the past two outings and will want to return with a positive outing to help 901 FC get back on track out west.
