Two teams that currently sit below the playoff line in the USL Championship’s Western Conference but that have each found a good run of form in recent weeks will square off on Sunday night, with Rio Grande Valley FC playing host to Orange County SC in a game that was rescheduled from Saturday due to travel logistics.

Here’s a look ahead at the action.

Rio Grande Valley FC vs. Orange County SC

Venue: H-E-B Park
Kickoff: 8 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Rio Grande Valley FC and Orange County SC will both try to continue good recent runs of form as they square off for the second time this season, with OCSC looking to complete a season sweep over their hosts. Orange County (6-8-4, 22pts) claimed a 2-0 victory against RGVFC when the teams met on June 3 at Championship Soccer Stadium, part of a run of four wins in the past five games that has jumped the side within a point of the playoff positions in the Eastern Conference. Last time out, OCSC rallied for a 3-1 victory against Monterey Bay F.C. as Thomas Amang scored twice after coming on as a substitute to lead the side to a third consecutive win. The Toros (4-5-8, 20pts) are undefeated since that setback, and ran that streak to five games last Saturday night as Taylor Davila scored a brilliant stoppage-time equalizer to earn a 1-1 draw against Western Conference leader Sacramento Republic FC at Heart Health Park. Davila has now recorded three goals and three assists this season for the Toros and will be looking to jump his side past OCSC in the standings as the side looks for just its second home win of the season on Saturday night.

Spotlight Players
Rio Grande Valley FC – Frank Nodarse:
The Cuban center back has been a solid performer this season for the Toros and will need to be on top of his game as the hosts look to contain an OCSC attack that is clicking into gear.

Orange County SC – Kevin Partida: The holding midfielder has put in three solid dispays in his side’s current three-game winning streak and will be looking to protect the back line against a fluid Toros attacking midfield.
