One of the best rivalries in the USL Championship will be renewed on Saturday night as El Paso Locomotive FC puts its 12-game undefeated streak on the line against New Mexico United, while Memphis 901 FC will look to add to its 12-game undefeated run in a nationally televised clash with Phoenix Rising FC on a big night of action across the USL Championship to kick off July’s slate across the league.

Here's a look ahead at all the action.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC vs. Louisville City FC

Venue: Highmark Stadium
Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will look to add to a six-game home winning streak as it plays host to a Louisville City FC side it has yet to defeat on home turf in the series between the two clubs. The Hounds (8-2-6, 30pts) regained first place in the Eastern Conference last Saturday night when Illal Osumanu’s first goal in the Championship lifted the side to a 2-1 win against San Diego Loyal SC. The result extended Pittsburgh overall undefeated streak to nine games, with the side having only been held to a draw once this year on home turf in its home opener against Miami FC on March 24. The Hounds have not earned victory against Louisville in nine prior meetings at Highmark Stadium, however, with the visitors going 5-0-4 in its prior trips to the Steel City across the regular season and playoffs. LouCity (7-4-4, 25pts) earned a 1-0 victory against Las Vegas Lights FC in its most recent outing last Saturday as Enoch Mushagalusa scored a second-half winner at Lynn Family Stadium to end a three-game winless streak. The contest also saw goalkeeper Oliver Semmle record his seventh shutout of the season, putting him tied for the league lead, and the visitors will be hoping for another good display as they try to close the gap to the frontrunner in the standings.

Spotlight Players
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC – Tola Showumni:
The first-year pro has recorded two goals in the past three games in lieu of the injured Albert Dikwa and will be looking to add to that positive run of form.

Louisville City FC – Brian Ownby: The veteran winger returned to action last weekend from injury and provided a spark off the bench, recording his third assist of the season on the side’s winner against Lights FC, and could see more action here.

Indy Eleven vs. San Diego Loyal SC

Venue: Michael A. Carroll Stadium
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Indy Eleven will try to further solidify its place in the Eastern Conference playoff positions as it hosts San Diego Loyal SC, which heads east for a second consecutive weekend looking to break a recent winless streak. Indy (5-6-4, 19pts) struck late to claim a 2-0 victory against Hartford Athletic as Cam Lindley scored his first goal for the club with a brilliant long-range strike to deliver the key moment in the game. Indy is now alone in seventh place in the East and will want to end an up-and-down ride that has seen the side go 2-2-1 in its last five games as it looks to avenge one of its heaviest defeats of the 2022 season against San Diego, which took a 5-0 win at Torero Stadium when the sides met for the first time. SD Loyal (6-5-5, 23pts) is looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC that saw the side take a first-half lead through Adrien Perez before conceding twice in the second half. The side is now winless in its last three road games and its last five games overall, a run it will be eager to end as it looks to jump back into top four contention.

Spotlight Players
Indy Eleven – Macauley King:
The English defender returned for his first appearance in more than a month against Hartford and put in a solid display, and more of the same will be needed against a good SD Loyal attack.

San Diego Loyal SC – Nick Moon: The attacking midfielder will make his first return trip to The Mike since he recorded three goals and four assists in 29 appearances for Indy during the 2021 season before his move to SD Loyal.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC vs. Miami FC

Venue: Weidner Field
Kickoff: 9 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC will try to rebound on home turf as it plays host to a Miami FC side trying to find a way out of its recent slide and back into the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. The Switchbacks (7-9-1, 22pts) fell 2-1 to New Mexico United last Saturday night after a late attempt to rally came up short at Isotopes Park, resulting in a second consecutive defeat for the side. Colorado Springs remains in seventh place in the Western Conference standings, however, and won each of its past two home outings as it looks for a repeat of its 2-1 victory against Miami when the sides met in South Florida a season ago. Miami (2-7-7, 13pts) is on a seven-game winless streak after falling 1-0 to Monterey Bay F.C. last Saturday at Cardinale Stadium, meanwhile, and has yet to win away from home this season as interim Head Coach Lewis Neal leads the side for a second outing. While Miami has struggled for form this season, it remains only three points out of eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings, meaning a positive run of form could put the side quickly back into playoff contention as the second half of the season arrives.

Spotlight Players
Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC – Speedy Williams:
The Jamaican midfielder spent the past two seasons in Miami and has been a strong pick-up for the Switchbacks this offseason, posting an 84.1 percent passing accuracy rate while notching one goal and two assists.

Miami FC – Mark Segbers: The veteran full back hasn’t hit the heights of recent seasons so far as he looks for his first goal contribution of the season while having recorded eight chances created in 16 appearances, something he needs to change to help his side rise.

San Antonio FC vs. Birmingham Legion FC

Venue: Toyota Field
Kickoff: 9 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: San Antonio FC will look to continue its undefeated home record in the league this season as it hosts a Birmingham Legion FC side that has won its last two outings to return to form in the Eastern Conference. San Antonio (6-3-7, 25pts) dropped to fourth place in the Western Conference last Saturday after falling 3-1 to Sacramento Republic FC for only its third loss of the season. SAFC is now winless in its last four games overall and will be without standout goalkeeper Jordan Farr as he serves a suspension after a red card for denial of a goalscoring opportunity in Sacramento. San Antonio is one of two sides that are currently undefeated at home this season, however, with the side sitting on a 23-game home undefeated streak in the regular season that goes more than year. Legion FC (7-7-1, 22pts) will look to challenge that after taking victories in each of their past two games to solidify its place in the Eastern Conference. Birmingham won 2-0 against Loudoun United FC on June 21 in its most recent outing as Diba Nwegbo scored in his second consecutive game before Neco Brett added a late finish to secure the win. San Antonio rallied to take a 2-1 victory when these teams met a season ago when Santiago Patino scored the winner at Protective Stadium, putting Legion FC in a position to potentially avenge that defeat and end the longest active home undefeated run in the Championship.

Spotlight Players
San Antonio FC – Carlos Mercado:
The back-up goalkeeper is in line to make just his second appearance of the season after appearing in the side’s Second Round victory of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in April against Club de Lyon with Farr absent through suspension.

Birmingham Legion FC – Enzo Martinez: The veteran playmaker has recorded six goals and three assists this season to lead Legion FC and will likely be a key figure again as it takes on SAFC’s stout defense.

El Paso Locomotive FC vs. New Mexico United

Venue: Southwest University Park
Kickoff: 9:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: The Derby del Camino Real returns for the second time this season with El Paso Locomotive FC looking to continue a 12-game undefeated streak as it welcomes rival New Mexico United to the Borderplex. Locomotive FC (9-3-3, 30pts) will return to action after playing to a 1-1 draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on June 17 in its most recent outing, a result that ended a run of three games in eight days and briefly sent the side on top of the Western Conference standings. After a bye week that saw Sacramento Republic FC return to top spot, El Paso will be hoping to repeat its victory when the sides met on June 3 when a goal by Denys Kostyshyn proved the difference in a 1-0 win. New Mexico (5-7-3, 18pts) will head in buoyed by its first victory under new Head Coach Eric Quill in its last outing as Amando Moreno and Daniel Bruce each scored to send the side to a 2-1 win against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Moreno is now tied for the club-lead with four goals this season and has found the net in each of the past two games. Having claimed victory in the club’s last visit to El Paso early in the 2022 campaign, United will be looking to even the series with a win that would boost its playoff chances in the lower half of the Western Conference.

Spotlight Players
El Paso Locomotive FC – Denys Kostyshyn:
The Ukrainian playmaker notched the equalizer against Tampa Bay in Los Locos’ last outing and has four goals and two assists overall this season while delivering a high level of quality around the field.

New Mexico United – Daniel Bruce: The English forward has scored in his past two starts for New Mexico since Quill’s arrival and will look to be a threat in stretching the El Paso defense this time around.

Orange County SC vs. Monterey Bay F.C.

Venue: Championship Soccer Stadium
Kickoff: 10 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Orange County SC will try to build on consecutive road victories for the first time this season as it returns home to host a Monterey Bay F.C. side that has won four games in a row to move into the top three in the Western Conference. Orange County (5-8-4, 19pts) moved within three points of the playoff places in the West as it took a 1-0 victory against Detroit City FC last Saturday night behind Milan Iloski’s seventh goal of the season. Last year’s Championship Golden Boot leader has three goals and an assist in his last four appearances, helping carry the OC attack with 10 goal contributions in the 16 goals the side has scored this campaign in the league. The hosts will hope for more of the same as they welcome Monterey Bay for the first meeting between the sides this season. MBFC (7-4-5, 26pts) is on a tear of late, however, taking a 1-0 victory against Miami FC last Saturday for its fourth consecutive win as Christian Volesky scored his seventh goal of the season and Antony Siaha saved a penalty kick in his second consecutive shutout. Monterey Bay has been strong on the road this season as well, winning three of seven games on its travels, and after sweeping the season series last year the visitors will be hopeful of more success this time around.

Spotlight Players
Orange County SC – Marc McNulty:
The Scottish forward has yet to find the net in 11 appearances for OCSC in league play and could use a breakout performance to help support Milan Iloski’s attacking efforts.

Monterey Bay F.C. – Christian Volesky: The veteran forward scored when Monterey Bay last visited Championship Soccer Stadium and is one goal away from reaching 60 regular season goals for his career in the USL Championship.

Las Vegas Lights FC vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies

Venue: Cashman Field
Kickoff: 10:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: The Tampa Bay Rowdies will look to continue their nine-game undefeated streak as they head to face Las Vegas Lights FC, which returns home looking for a turnaround in form after a recent run of defeats on the road. Las Vegas (1-8-6, 9pts) suffered its fourth consecutive defeat last Saturday as a late goal sent Louisville City FC to a 1-0 win at Lynn Family Stadium, moving Lights FC 13 points out of the playoff positions as the midway point of the regular season approaches. The hosts have fallen in both prior meetings with the Rowdies, including a 2-1 defeat when Tampa Bay visited Cashman Field in the final game of the 2021 regular season. The Rowdies (8-4-4, 28pts) continued their recent run of form with a 4-2 victory against Loudoun United FC last Saturday that saw former Lights FC forward Cal Jennings rally the side to victory with two goals and one assist after coming on as a second-half substitute. Tampa Bay is now level on points with Memphis 901 FC and the Charleston Battery, sitting two points back of Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC for the Eastern Conference lead, and the visitors will be hopeful of earning another positive result here to maintain their push to the top of the standings.

Spotlight Players
Las Vegas Lights FC – Tabort Etaka Preston:
The Cameroonian winger has been one of the bright spots for Lights FC this season, and hit the crossbar against Louisville last week, with his speed something the Rowdies will have to guard against.

Tampa Bay Rowdies – Cal Jennings: The 26-year-old recorded 22 goals for Lights FC across two seasons while on loan from Los Angeles FC in the past two years and will hope for a successful return to his former stomping grounds.

Phoenix Rising FC vs. Memphis 901 FC

Venue: Phoenix Rising Stadium
Kickoff: 11 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN2

The Lowdown: Memphis 901 FC will try to add to its club record 12-game undefeated streak as it heads to face Phoenix Rising FC in what should be an entertaining contest on national television. Rising FC (5-4-7, 22pts) returns home looking to add to a four-game undefeated run of its own after a late equalizer by Manuel Arteaga earned the side a 1-1 draw with Oakland Roots SC last Saturday night at Pioneer Stadium. Phoenix is now in eighth place in the Western Conference after drawing each of the past three games, but Arteaga has caught a run of form with goals in each of the past four contests to move into a tie for the league lead with nine goals this season. Memphis (8-2-4, 28pts) will take aim at first place in the Eastern Conference, meanwhile, after a thrilling 3-2 victory against the Charleston Battery last Saturday moved the side within two points of top spot while holding games in hand on its rivals. Rodrigo Da Costa scored the decisive goal for 901 FC against the Battery, giving him three goals and one assist in the past four games since arriving in Memphis, and the visiting attack has been hot overall in recent weeks with 15 goals in its past five games, a challenge that Rising FC’s defense will face having allowed 73 shots on target this season, third-most in the league.

Spotlight Players
Phoenix Rising FC – Carlos Harvey:
The Panamanian midfielder has been a box-to-box motor for Phoenix this season and will need to deliver a big performance against one of the league’s best midfield units.

Memphis 901 FC – Rodrigo Da Costa: The Brazilian has hit the ground running with his new club after a move from Tulsa and his creativity in the final third could make a major difference for the visitors here.

Sacramento Republic FC vs. Rio Grande Valley FC

Venue: Heart Health Park
Kickoff: 11 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: Sacramento Republic FC will look to build on one of the biggest results of the season last time out as it plays host to a Rio Grande Valley FC side that has experienced a recent uptick in form, including winning the first leg of its NorCal trip in midweek. Republic FC (9-2-5, 32pts) moved back into first place in the Western Conference last Saturday with a 3-1 win against defending USL Championship title holder San Antonio FC at Heart Health Park as Sebastian Herrera, Jack Gurr and Luis Felipe Fernandes each found the net. The hosts are now second in the league in goals with 29 this season, with Gurr and Herrera’s finishes each giving them four tallies this season in support of leading scorer Russell Cicerone, who has nine. The Toros (4-5-7, 19pts) will hope to challenge the hosts after claiming a 2-0 victory against Oakland Roots SC on Wednesday night that saw Wilmer Cabrera Jr. score both goals at Pioneer Stadium to move the side into 10th place in the Western standings. RGV FC is now undefeated in its last four games overall and has won consecutive games for the first time this season, and after a 1-1 draw when the sides last met a season ago at Heart Health Park the visitors will be hopeful of getting another positive result to boost their playoff chances.

Spotlight Players
Sacramento Republic FC – Russell Cicerone:
The veteran forward remains tied for the league-lead in goals but has been held without a tally in four consecutive games and has only recorded one assist in that span.

Rio Grande Valley FC – Wilmer Cabrera Jr.: The 22-year-old has notched five goals this season to lead the Toros after Wednesday night’s breakout game and could get the chance to start here after coming on as a substitute in Monterey Bay.
