Memphis 901 FC has signed midfielder Emerson Hyndman, who has made more than 100 professional appearances in his career, including more than 50 for Atlanta United FC.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced on Friday the club had signed midfielder Emerson Hyndman for the remainder of the 2023 USL Championship season. Hyndman will be available for selection when 901 FC faces Louisville City FC on Saturday night at Lynn Family Stadium.
Hyndman joins Memphis bringing top-flight experience from Major League Soccer and the Scottish Premiership, as well as two senior international caps for the United States Men’s National Team. The 27-year-old most recently made 51 appearances in MLS with Atlanta United FC, where he was coached by current 901 FC Head Coach Stephen Glass.
“We’re delighted to add Emerson to our group,” said Glass. “Since coming in to train, he has enjoyed our environment and what we have to offer. To be able to add an international player with his experience to our roster is great for what we’re trying to do.”
A native of Dallas, Hyndman native signed with the youth academy at English side Fulham at age 15 and made his senior debut for the Cottagers in 2014 in the EFL Championship. He also made a pair of appearances for Fulham in the Premier League before heading north, where Hyndman played for both Rangers F.C. and Hibernian F.C. in the Scottish Premiership. Across two seasons he recorded 36 appearances while scoring five goals and four assists.
Hyndman subsequently joined Atlanta in 2019 and recorded four goals and six assists while helping the club win the U.S. Open Cup and Campeones Cup in 2019.
