Louisville City FC will try to close the gap to current USL Championship Eastern Conference leader the Charleston Battery as it plays host to an FC Tulsa side that could feature a top new arrival on Wednesday night as Week 12 of the regular season kicks off.

Here's a look ahead at the action.

Louisville City FC vs. FC Tulsa

Venue: Lynn Family Stadium
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+
538.com Predictor: LOU 67%, TUL 12%, Draw 21%

The Lowdown: Louisville City FC returns to action after a bye week as it plays host to FC Tulsa, which could hand a debut to new arrival Phillip Goodrum as it looks to break an eight-game winless streak and move up the Eastern Conference standings. Tulsa (1-4-6, 9pts) suffered a 2-1 defeat to Memphis 901 FC as Dario Suarez’s late goal last Friday night couldn’t pull the hosts back from a two-goal deficit, but the two sides on Monday completed a pair of deals that brought Goodrum to Tulsa while sending Rodrigo da Costa to Memphis. Goodrum is looking for his first league goal this season after bagging 22 goals across the Championship regular season and playoffs a season ago for 901 FC and should get service from the attacking contingent led by Marcus Epps that remains part of Head Coach Blair Gavin’s squad. LouCity (5-2-2, 17pts) is looking to build on a big win last time out as it took a 3-1 victory against Miami FC behind second-half goals by Brian Ownby and Sean Totsch. Louisville now sits four points back of the Charleston Battery for first place in the Eastern Conference, but with two games in hand the defending conference champions are well positioned as they open a two-game week that concludes with a clash against rival Indy Eleven on Saturday night.

Spotlight Players
Louisville City FC – Enoch Mushagalusa:
The Congolese winger recorded two goals and one assist in the two meetings between these sides last season and will be aiming for another positive performance here.

FC Tulsa – Marcus Epps: The left winger has been arguably Tulsa’s most dangerous player so far this season and how he and Goodrum start building a partnership in the final third will be intriguing to watch.
