INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Thursday the club had signed forward Roberto Molina and had added young standout Grayson Elmquist to its roster as a USL Academy signing. Per club policy, details of the contract will not be released.

Both Molina and Elmquist will be available to make their debuts for the club this Saturday when it hosts Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.

Molina spent the past two seasons with fellow USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC. The 22-year-old recorded three goals and five assists in 44 appearances in the Championship regular season with Lights FC, logging 3,036 minutes of action.

Additionally, Molina has made five appearances for El Salvador at the senior international level, making his debut for the side against Ecuador on December 5, 2021. Last year, Molina was a second-half substitute for La Selecta as the side earned a 1-1 draw at home to the United States in the Concacaf Nations League in June.

A native of El Salvador, Molina signed with Lights FC for the 2021 Championship season after playing one season at the University of California Irvine in 2019. Molina notched three goals and three assists as he appeared in all 19 matches, making 17 starts, and was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team. After the cancellation of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Molina elected to turn pro the following spring.

Indy Academy product Elmquist joins the team having achieved notable success in the USL Academy League over the past year. As part of this season’s U19 USL Academy League team, Elmquist earned Golden Boot and Golden Ball honors. He will join the Eleven until he reports to Xavier University to begin his college career in the fall.
