USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week – Week 9

A pair of key penalty saves and a pair of incredible pieces of shot-stopping, who gets your vote?

Two standout shot-stoppers stepped up to the mark to make crucial penalty kick saves on Friday night, and they were joined by two outstanding saves that also helped sides earn results at home and on the road in lighting up the USL Championship in Week 9 of the regular season. All four are now selected as nominees for the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week, and it’s up to you to vote for the winner here on the web, on the league social media feeds, and in the USL App.

Voting runs through Friday, May 12 at 12 p.m. ET.

USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week – Week 9

Benny Diaz (ELP) - #COSvELP, 5/5/23: Diaz went at full stretch to get his fingertips onto Jamaican international Speedy Williams’ long-range blast, turning it onto the crossbar and away to safety at Weidner Field.

Antony Siaha (MB) - #MBvPIT, 5/5/23: Siaha made a key save to deny Championship co-leading goalscorer Albert Dikwa from the penalty spot as MBFC made a late comeback to earn a point at Cardinale Stadium.

Trey Muse (CHS) - #LVvCHS, 5/5/23: Voted the Championship Player of the Week, Muse’s best save of a six-save shutout saw him blank former Mexico international Erick “Cubo” Torres from the penalty spot at Cashman Field.

Nathan Steinwascher (DET) - #DETvTUL, 5/6/23: Steinwascher produced a kick-save and a beauty in the final minute of his side’s clash with FC Tulsa, preserving a point for Le Rouge at home at Keyworth Stadium.
