SAN ANTONIO HOME UNDEFEATED STREAK SURPASSES A CALENDAR YEAR
San Antonio FC’s undefeated streak at Toyota Field surpassed a calendar year in the past week with the club’s 0-0 draw against Western Conference rival Sacramento Republic FC extending the run to 24 games across all competitions.

Since suffering a 2-0 defeat at home to Phoenix Rising FC on April 2, 2022, San Antonio has gone undefeated in 18 consecutive USL Championship regular season contests, three USL Championship Playoffs contests, and three Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup contests, including last year’s Third Round upset of Austin FC. San Antonio is bidding to join a group of nine teams that have gone undefeated in a full regular season campaign, most recently accomplished in 2021 by Phoenix Rising FC (13-0-3) and El Paso Locomotive FC (11-0-5).

To surpass the Championship’s all-time home undefeated streak, however, SAFC may need to carry its undefeated run for another calendar year. The Championship’s current record for the longest regular season home undefeated is held by the Richmond Kickers, who went 33 regular season games without defeat at City Stadium between June 23, 2012 and August 23, 2014.

LOUCITY BECOMES WINNINGEST CLUB IN CHAMPIONSHIP’S REGULAR SEASON

Louisville City FC became the winningest club in the USL Championship’s regular season history on Saturday afternoon as it claimed its 139th victory with its 1-0 win against Detroit City FC at Lynn Family Stadium. The victory broke a tie with Orange County SC, which remained on 138 regular season victories after falling 1-0 at El Paso Locomotive FC later that day.

LouCity now sits one win ahead of both Orange County SC and the Charleston Battery, which claimed its 138th regular season victory in the Championship era on Saturday night against Hartford Athletic. LouCity’s winning percentage sits at 56.7 percent, with side having lost only 50 regular season contests in 245 regular season games as it enters Saturday’s 2022 USL Championship Final rematch with San Antonio FC.

NEW MEXICO UNITED’S CHRIS WEHAN BAGS 50TH REGULAR SEASON GOAL

New Mexico United’s Chris Wehan became the 22nd player to record 50 regular season goals in the USL Championship’s history on Saturday night during his club’s contest against Monterey Bay F.C. With 31 career regular season assists to accompany his goal total, the 29-year-old also joined an elite group to have recorded both at least 50 regular season goals and 30 regular season assists in his career.

PHOENIX’S CARLOS HARVEY PUTS IN THE WORK
Phoenix Rising FC’s Carlos Harvey delivered one of the performances of the weekend in his side’s 2-1 victory against Birmingham Legion FC with his individual numbers putting him in a fascinating group when it comes to duels won, tackles won, and goals in the same game.

According to Opta, the Panamanian international recorded 14 duels won and five tackles won in addition to his game-winning goal for the visitors at Protective Stadium. Those are marks that had only been previously reached in a single game by five players since the Championship’s partnership with Opta prior to the 2017 season.

The Charleston Battery’s Dante Polvara will not serve a suspension following a successful appeal of his second yellow card against Hartford Athletic on April 8 to the Independent Review Panel. Polvara will be available for selection in Charleston’s contest against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC’s Robbie Mertz has been suspended for one game following his red card for serious foul play against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on April 8. Mertz will be unavailable for selection in Pittsburgh’s contest against Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday night.
