The Lowdown: The Tampa Bay Rowdies will try to turn the tables on the Charleston Battery when the sides meet for the second time this season with the visitors arriving in downtown St. Petersburg as the last undefeated side in the Eastern Conference to start the season. Both clubs earned victories last time out with Tampa Bay (1-1-2, 5pts) having earned its first regular season win of the campaign in a 2-0 result against in-state rival Miami FC. Both Felix Schröter and Cal Jennings scored their first goals for their new club either side of halftime while Connor Sparrow recorded his first league shutout of the season for the Rowdies against his former club. The Battery (2-0-2, 8pts) grabbed a dramatic 3-2 victory against Hartford Athletic at Patriots Point on Saturday night as Arturo Rodriguez’s stoppage-time goal lifted the hosts to victory. The Battery also got goals from Nick Markanich and Augustine Williams, giving the Sierra Leone international goals in three consecutive games across all competitions, while 17-year-old standout Fidel Barajas notched his third assist of the campaign to move into a tie for the league-lead. Barajas and Markanich both recorded a goal and assist when Charleston hosted Tampa Bay on March 25 in a 3-0 victory for the Battery at Patriots Point, which marked a second consecutive victory and third game without defeat for Charleston in the overall series, a run the Rowdies will be aiming to end back on home turf.

Spotlight Players
Tampa Bay Rowdies – Lewis Hilton:
The veteran midfielder notched the 30th regular season assist of his career against Miami and continues to be highly influential in the center of the park for the Rowdies.

Charleston Battery – AJ Paterson: The Grenada international has been a solid presence in the back line for the Battery this season, winning 18 of 23 duels and 12 of 16 aerial duels. He’ll need another good display against a strong Rowdies attack.
