San Antonio extends Zico Bailey’s contract through 2023 season

Defender scored first goal for club against Monterey Bay, earned Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Tuesday it had signed defender Zico Bailey for the remainder of the 2023 season. Bailey had previously signed a 25-day contract with the club on March 16.

The 22-year-old has made four appearances since joining San Antonio, recording two starts and 252 minutes of action. Bailey scored his first goal for SAFC in its 2-1 victory against Monterey Bay F.C., firing home the game-winning goal with five minutes to go to earn the Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week award for Week 4 of the regular season.

Defensively, Bailey has recorded seven interceptions and won four tackles while recording 21 recoveries. He joined San Antonio having previously competed for Major League Soccer’s FC Cincinnati, where he spent the past three seasons and recorded one goal and one assist in 22 appearances.
