TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award Presented by Konami eFootball for March, honoring five of the top performers throughout the opening month of the 2023 season as they take their place on the ballot.
Voting in the Championship Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:
The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, April 13.
Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.
Alex Dixon, Monterey Bay F.C. – The veteran forward made a flying start with his new club, recording four goals in three games while passing 50 regular season goals for his career in the Championship and posting an 84.6 percent passing accuracy rate.
Zach Ryan, Loudoun United FC – The second-year pro scored three goals and added one assist in two appearances as Loudoun earned results against Memphis 901 FC and San Antonio FC to start the new season.
Jordan Farr, San Antonio FC – The reigning Championship Goalkeeper of the Year made a stellar start to the new campaign as he made 12 saves and posted a save percentage of 85.7 percent to help lead his side to an undefeated start to its title defense.
Prince Saydee, Hartford Athletic – The Liberian winger recorded two goals and one assist in three games while completing 10 of 11 dribbles and notching six chances created. Saydee cumulatively posted a +1.05 goals added mark for the month via American Soccer Analysis.
Fidel Barajas, Charleston Battery – The Mexico U-17 international notched his first goal in the Championship and also notched two assists in three appearances while recording eight chances created to help lead the Battery to an undefeated start to the season.
