The weekend’s action in the USL Championship kicks off on Friday night as FC Tulsa plays host to El Paso Locomotive FC to complete a busy three-game home stand as the hosts try to make a piece of club history.

Here’s a look ahead to the action.

The Lowdown: FC Tulsa will take aim at a club first on Friday night as it squares off with an El Paso Locomotive FC side it has yet to take victory against across five prior meetings between the clubs over the past four seasons. The hosts are coming off a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC that served as the first goalless contest in the Championship this season after a second-half finish by Tulsa forward Moses Dyer was ruled out for offside. Blaine Ferri and Bradley Bourgeois also went close for the hosts, who could have Austin Wormell make his first start in goal this season on Friday night after he was needed as a first-half substitute for fellow goalkeeper Michael Nelson, who suffered an injury in a collision with Pittsburgh’s Albert Dikwa. Wormell made three saves against the Hounds and will hope for more of the same as his side faces a Locomotive FC side coming off its first win of the campaign last time out. El Paso defeated reigning Eastern Conference title holder Louisville City FC 3-0 last Saturday afternoon at Lynn Family Stadium thanks to goals by Marc Navarro, Ricardo Zacarias and Petar Petrovic, getting the club off the mark after three consecutive defeats to start the season. After a 3-1 victory against Tulsa last season at Southwest University Park – which featured a pair of goals by Luis Solignac for the hosts – El Paso will be aiming to improve on its 3-0-2 record against Tulsa across their prior regular season and playoff meetings.

Spotlight Players
FC Tulsa – Brett Levis:
The Canadian left back put in a strong first start of the season for his new club against Pittsburgh, winning 6 of 6 tackles and 10 of 13 duels, and could play an important role in holding down El Paso’s wide threats.

El Paso Locomotive FC – Josue Aaron Gomez: The Mexican veteran is set to make his 100th regular season appearance in the Championship on Friday and has notched two goals and two assists in five prior outings against Tulsa.
