SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Wednesday the club had signed defender Lamar Batista for the remainder of the 2023 USL Championship season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Batista previously signed a 25-day contract with the team on March 9.
Batista has started and played the full 90 minutes in all three of San Antonio’s contests so far this season. He recorded a pair of goals in the club’s opening game of the season against Oakland Roots SC and has also notched one assist while earning a pair of selections to the USL Championship Team of the Week in Week 1 and Week 2 of the season.
The 25-year-old had made 66 regular season appearances in the Championship overall in his career. Prior to joining San Antonio, he had most recently played for Rochester NY FC in MLS NEXT Pro.
