Phoenix Rising FC's Carlos Harvey celebrates scoring his first senior national team goal for Panama on Sunday evening in an exhibition against Guatemala at PayPal Park.
Phoenix Rising FC’s Carlos Harvey scored his first senior international goal for Panama on Sunday evening as Los Canaleros played to a 1-1 draw with Guatemala at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif.
An offseason acquisition by Phoenix from the LA Galaxy, Harvey began and ended the move that led to his goal. Finding a teammate with a pass in midfield, the 23-year-old peeled off and made a run into the left side of the penalty area where he was found by a cross from the right by teammate Jorge Serrano for an excellent header into the right corner.

Harvey earned his third senior cap for Panama in the contest, and his first since a contest in World Cup Qualifying against Anguilla in June 2021.
Panama is next set to face World Cup champions Argentina on March 23 before what’s set to be a crucial Concacaf Nations League A contest against Costa Rica on March 28 at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica which is likely to decide which of the two countries advances to the 2023 Concacaf Nations League Finals this summer.
