Lights FC adds Danny Rios on loan from Houston Dynamo FC

19-year-old midfielder has two senior caps for El Salvador, graduated from Dynamo Academy


New Las Vegas Lights FC arrival Danny Rios has made two senior appearances for El Salvador since signing as a Homegrown player with Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo FC in 2021.

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Lights FC added to its midfield corps on Friday afternoon, acquiring midfielder Danny Rios on loan from Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo FC for the 2023 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Rios is a graduate of the Dynamo Academy, and was signed as a Homegrown player by Houston prior to the 2021 MLS season. This past season he made six appearances for the Dynamo 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, including one appearance in the postseason, logging 88 minutes of action.

The 19-year-old has gained additional experience at the international level. Rios has made two senior national team appearances for El Salvador in 2021 in exhibitions against Guatemala and Costa Rica. Last year he competed for La Selecta’s U-20s squad at the Concacaf U-20 Championship and scored one goal in three appearances.
