SD Loyal brings aboard forward Adrien Perez

Former D.C. United striker returns to California looking for success after injury in 2022


San Diego Loyal SC has signed California native Adrien Perez, who spent the past two seasons with D.C. United in Major League Soccer.

SAN DIEGO – San Diego Loyal SC announced on Tuesday the club had signed forward Adrien Perez for the upcoming 2023 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Perez becomes the fourth offseason arrival for SD Loyal this offseason, joining fellow forward Elliot Collier and midfielders Joe Corona and Blake Bodily. The 27-year-old joins spent the past two seasons with Major League Soccer side D.C. United, making three appearances for the side last season before suffering a foot injury that ended his campaign prematurely.

A native of Ontario, Calif., Perez has made 43 appearances in Major League Soccer overall, recording one goal and two assists, having previously spent two seasons with Los Angeles FC in 2019 and 2020. Perez started his MLS career with LAFC when he was signed on Feb. 21, 2019 from the Ontario Fury of the Major Arena Soccer League.
