TUCSON, Ariz. – New Mexico United got a pair of goals from new forward Josh Dolling as it played to a 3-3 draw with Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire FC close out its preseason visit to the Desert Showcase presented by FC Tucson on Wednesday afternoon. The draw was United’s third positive result in three matches so far this preseason, joining a draw with Louisville City FC and victory against Detroit City FC.

Amando Moreno opened the scoring for New Mexico in the 12th minute as he put home a deft cross from newcomer Greg Hurst at close range. Chicago leveled the game 10 minutes before halftime when Victor Bezerra found the net, but Dolling restored New Mexico’s lead 11 minutes into the second half as he put home a cross by Santi Moar.
Dolling struck again four minutes later as he received a pass from Moreno inside the penalty area and tapped home his second of then game. Chicago rallied inside the final 15 minutes with goals in back-to-back minutes by Alex Monis and Jose Mauri, but New Mexico saw out the draw to close out a good start to its preseason preparations.
