MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced on Friday the club had re-signed midfielder Jeremy Kelly to a new contract ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. The transaction is  pending league and federation approval.

Kelly was a key player as 901 FC took a second-place finish in the Eastern Conference during the 2022 season, and won Player of the Month honors in May after recording three goals and three assists across the month. The 25-year-old ended the campaign with eight goals and 10 assists – sitting tied for the club-lead with fellow returnee Aaron Molloy – in 36 appearances.

“We are delighted to welcome Jeremy back for the 2023 season,” said 901 FC Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell. “He played a big part in our 2022 season, and we look forward to him contributing in a big way in 2023.”

Kelly had previously competed for the Colorado Rapids, where he made seven appearances in Major League Soccer while also spending time on loan in the USL Championship with Phoenix Rising FC. A former standout at the University of North Carolina, Kelly was selected with the ninth pick of the 2020 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by Club de Foot Montreal before being acquired in a trade by the Rapids prior to his rookie season.
