Speedy winger joins club with 32 goals, 34 assists in Championship career

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley FC announced on Friday the club had signed winger Christiano François to the club’s 2023 USL Championship roster. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

François boasts a proven track record in the USL Championship; the Haitian international has logged an impressive 162 appearances across the regular season and playoffs, recording 32 goals and 34 assists in the league. Additionally, since the start of the 2017 season, the 29-year-old has completed 265 dribbles, ranking fifth in the Championship over that span.

His standout season offensively came two years ago at Miami FC where he racked up 11 goals and seven assists, showcasing his attacking specialty as a winger. This past season, François competed for fellow USL Championship club El Paso Locomotive FC, having also preciously competed in the league for the Richmond Kickers, Rochester Rhinos, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, Ottawa Fury FC, Reno 1868 FC and Portland Timbers 2.

François made his international debut with the Haiti Men’s National Team on September 7, 2019 in the 78th minute of a 2019 Concacaf Nations League match against Curaçao. He has three appearances at the U-23 ranks and three senior level matches respectively for the Haitian national teams.
