Miami FC signs forward Ben Mines to multi-year deal

MIAMI – Miami FC announced on Thursday the club had signed forward Ben Mines to a multi-year contract ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Mines joins Miami having made three appearances on loan with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC from Major League Soccer’s FC Cincinnati during the 2022 USL Championship campaign. Mines recorded one goal as he appeared as a substitute all three outings.

The 22-year-old has made 68 appearances in the Championship across the regular season and playoffs during his career, making his debut in 2016 for the New York Red Bulls II as a USL Academy signings. After signing as a Homegrown Player for the Red Bulls, Mines recorded three goals and three assists over 52 appearances in the Championship for the Red Bulls II while also making six appearances and recording two goals and one assist in Major League Soccer.

In 2021, Mines joined FC Cincinnati after being selected in the MLS Waiver Draft, and that season went on loan to Orange County SC, where he recorded three goals in 13 appearances while helping OCSC claim the USL Championship title.
