IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Wednesday the club had signed defender Andrew Fox to a multi-year contract, bringing the experienced center back on board ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

The 29-year-old joins Orange County after spending the past four seasons at fellow USL Championship club El Paso Locomotive FC, where Fox ranked fourth in club history with 90 appearances across the regular season and playoffs while helping Locomotive FC reach a pair of Western Conference Finals in its first two seasons.

“I am delighted to be an Orange County player,” Fox said. “I look forward to getting started and am committed to helping the club succeed both on and off the pitch.”

A native of Huntingdon, England, Fox joined El Paso for its inaugural season in 2019 and recorded seven goals and three assists across the regular season and playoffs. He recorded three goals a season ago, and overall logged 7,277 minutes for the club.

Prior to his time with El Paso, Fox played in the English Football League with Peterborough United, Stevenage Town, and Grimsby Town, and recorded 49 appearances across EFL League One and League Two.

"We are delighted to bring Andrew Fox, a first-class professional, to Orange County”, said Orange County SC President of Soccer Operations, Oliver Wyss. “Andrew’s overall quality and experience in this league will have an immediate impact on our team on and off the field.”

“Andrew is a player I’ve always held a lot of admiration for,” added OCSC Head Coach Richard Chaplow. “He ticks all the boxes you want in a defender. He’s aggressive, mobile and composed on the ball. I’m looking forward to getting him in the building and implementing him into our group.”
