Birmingham Legion FC has signed forward Tyler Pasher, who joins the club after making 36 appearances across the past two seasons with Houston Dynamo FC in Major League Soccer.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham Legion FC announced on Monday the club had signed former USL Championship All-League selection and Canadian Men’s National Team forward Tyler Pasher, pending league and federation approval.

Pasher spent the past two seasons in Major League Soccer with Houston Dynamo FC, which acquired the 28-year-old via transfer from the Championship’s Indy Eleven after the 2020 season. Pasher recorded six goals and three assists in his time with the Dynamo, a spell during which he was also called up to the Canada Men’s National Team for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Prior to joining the Dynamo, Pasher had two standout campaigns for Indy in which he recorded 23 goals and six assists across 50 regular season and playoff appearances. In 2019 he helped lead Indy to the Eastern Conference Final of the USL Championship Playoffs, while in 2020, he was voted to the USL Championship All-League Second Team.

“We’re excited to bring Tyler to Birmingham,” said Legion FC President and General Manager Jay Heaps. “He is someone that [Head Coach] Tommy [Soehn] and I have been tracking for a while, as he’s a talented player with pace, creativity, and the ability to finish that will add a lot to our attacking group.”

After coming up through the Toronto FC Academy, and training with Newcastle United youth sides in England, Pasher made his professional debut in 2013 in Finland for the PS Kemi Kings. He has since spent time in Major League Soccer with Sporting Kansas City and the New York Red Bulls, and in the USL Championship with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and the Swope Park Rangers. Overall, Pasher has made 136 regular season and playoff appearances in the Championship, recording 31 goals and 14 assists.

“I have been in contact with Coach Tom [Soehn] for quite some time over the years, and his persistence and determination to bring me to the club made my decision a no brainer,” said Pasher. “I am extremely excited to take part in the project the club is building and to join a team of extremely talented players with a lot of experience. I’m looking forward to getting started and to assist the team in any way I can to achieve the goal of bringing trophies to the city of Birmingham.”
